New details in SUV stolen in Dayton with child inside who was found safe

Dayton police on Thursday released new photos of the suspect who stole an SUV with a child inside last month.

A woman who identified herself as a DoorDash driver told a dispatcher Nov. 15 she was grabbing an order when the red 2021 Hyundai Kona with Florida plate GHLH37 was stolen with an 11-year-old child in the back seat. The youth was later found safe, but the suspect has not been captured nor the vehicle recovered.

“The Dayton Police Department is still actively looking for the suspect as well as the vehicle taken in the incident that occurred … in the 600 block of Watervliet Avenue,” the department announced on social media.

Anyone with information or who recognizes the suspect is urged to call the Dayton Police Department at 937-333-COPS (2677) or to remain anonymous, Miami Valley Crime Stoppers at 937-222-STOP (7867).
